Bill Pearson FCA FCCA Managing Partner (Thirsk)
Bill was trained at the Barker Partnership and qualified in 1995. He became a partner at the Thirsk office in 2007 and has subsequently become the managing partner in 2017 after Charles Gill retired.
With a wealth of experience in general practice Bill is committed to providing a personal, professional and proactive service, designed to meet the individual requirements of all his clients. Bill is the firm’s compliance Partner and ensures that the firm and it’s clients remain up to date with all statutory and regulatory matters.

Andrew Taylor ACA FCCA Partner (Thirsk)
Andrew qualified whist working in smaller accountancy practices in North Yorkshire before moving to head up the corporate section of a practice in York. He joined The Barker Partnership in 2008 as an Associate in the Thirsk office. Andrew is a dedicated general practitioner who acts for a broad range of both corporate and personal clients across a variety of business sectors. He is heavily involved in the firm’s audit department and also manages the Sage bookkeeping and VAT compliance department. He advises clients on all accountancy and taxation matters, including management information and support.

Stuart Strike ATT Director (Pateley Bridge)
Stuart started work with Burtwistle Clements over 20 years ago and has been instrumental in guiding the business through the recent developments, culminating with the recent merger and accepting a position as an Director of The Barker Partnership and managing the office in Pateley Bridge.
Stuart’s client base includes sole trader, partnership and corporate businesses in a wide ranging variety of industries and ensures that each client receives an exceptional personable service that uncovers the most practical and tax efficient solutions.

David Thomas ACA FCCA Director (Harrogate)
David is the director at our Harrogate office overseeing a client portfolio that includes corporate work, sole traders, partnerships, management accounts and taxation services.
Agriculture is an area that David has a keen interest in, his large farming client portfolio reflects this. You can often see him at agricultural shows throughout the year.
David has seen a significant increase in his client base over recent years and has dedicated a great deal of his time to ensuring all his clients receive sound individual expert advice. His personable manner swiftly puts clients at ease.

Stephen Kay FCCA Partner (Ripon)
Stephen joined the firm in 1998 as a trainee and has lived in Ripon all his life. His local knowledge and connections enable him to help his growing portfolio of clients across all areas of accounting, tax, VAT and payroll.
He specialises in property and small business tax and helps his clients to minimise tax payable by prudent and pro-active tax planning. As the father of a young family he is conscious of the need to offer cost effective and relevant tax advice. Stephen also provides cloud based accounting systems advice and has experience of the various products available.
Stephen’s clients comment that he is always willing to go the extra mile to help them with out of office hour’s meetings or tight deadline work.
As a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Stephen is required to keep up to date with current legislation to aid his clients with the ever increasing burden of regulation from HMRC.

Fiona Wilkinson FCCA Partner (Ripon & Leyburn)
Fiona joined The Barker Partnership to manage the Leyburn office in 2010. Her client portfolio includes corporate, partnerships and sole traders covering many different trades. Her specialism, however, is within the agricultural sector and being married to a famer helps her understand the challenges faced by this industry. Fiona enjoys promoting and attending the agricultural shows we support throughout the year.
Fiona now splits her time between our Ripon and Leyburn offices. She can also be found in Masham Town Hall on a Wednesday afternoon operating a drop-in clinic where clients both new and existing can pop in without the need for an appointment.
Recently Fiona has been investigating cloud accounting solutions in light of the up and coming ‘Making Tax Digital’ regime HMRC have announced. She, along with her fellow partners, will ensure that all our clients are ready for this major change in reporting to the tax office.

David Warner FMAAT ATT(Fellow) CTA Tax Manager (Thirsk)
David joined the Barker Partnership Thirsk Office in 1987 and obtained his AAT qualification in 1992, the Association of Taxation Technicians qualification in 1993 becoming a fellow in 2011. On passing the Chartered Institute of Taxation examinations in 2012 David became a Chartered Tax Advisor and manages the taxation department for our Thirsk office.
David provides assistance to all of the partners in respect of a variety of tax matters, and with his wealth of experience gained in general practice deals with a wide range of clients and provides a personal and professional service.

Toby Morton Payroll Supervisor (Ripon)
Toby has been with the firm for 6 years and manages the Ripon office’s expanding payroll and tax departments. He is currently completing his Association of Chartered Certified Accountants examinations through the firms structured employee training programme.
Our Ripon payroll department is currently expanding due to the new Auto Enrolment pension rules introduced by the government and the recently introduced Real Time Information filing. Many of our clients have been happy to hand over responsibility for these areas to Toby, whose training makes light of the considerable legislation facing small business owners.

Dawn Fieldhouse Payroll Supervisor (Pateley Bridge)
Dawn has been with the firm since 1998 and manages our Pateley Bridge and Harrogate payroll clients.
Her work involves processing/supervising the preparation of our clients payroll, CIS and auto enrolment requirements. Timely processing of wages and HMRC/NEST returns is an essential part of this process and Dawn ensures that this runs as smoothly as possible.

Jen Bradley ACCA (Pateley Bridge)
Jen has been with the firm since 2008 when she joined the Barker Partnership Pateley Bridge office as a junior accounts clerk.
Jen qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2016 through the firms structured employee training programme.
Jen assists David Thomas and Stuart Strike on a portfolio of clients ranging from agricultural clients to family run businesses.
Agriculture is an area that Jen has a keen interest in. She is a farmers daughter and runs a smallholding with her husband in her spare time. You will often see Jen at a number of agricultural shows throughout the year.
Clients often comment that she is approachable and feel at ease talking to her about their business.
Sarah Lawson FCCA CTA (Pateley Bridge)
Sarah joined the Barker Partnership Thirsk office in 2001 and obtained her AAT qualification in 2005.
After a short break in 2010, to test the waters in industry, she rejoined the Barker Partnership at its Pateley Bridge office later that year, whereby she qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2011, becoming a Fellow in 2016. Sarah gained her Chartered Institure of Taxation qualification in 2014.
Sarah assists Stuart Strike and David Thomas for a range of clients from smaller family run businesses to our larger corporate clients.
Sarah also overseas / manages the taxation department for our Pateley Bridge & Harrogate offices ensuring timely submission of tax returns.
Jill Harker (Pateley Bridge)
Jill has been with the firm since 1988 and is one of our longest standing members of staff.
Jill deals with a lot of our agricultural clients. She works closely with the directors in order that the clients receive timely responses on all accounting matters from year end results to general in year compliance matters.
Dominic Smith MAAT (Harrogate)
Dominic supports David Thomas at the Harrogate office and is key to ensuring that the clients affairs are dealt with promptly.
Corporate work is an area that interests Dominic greatly. He takes pride in ensuring that clients are compliant with current legislation.
Dominic deals with a wide range of clients from sole traders and partnerships right through to small and medium sized limited companies.
Giles Kerridge (Thirsk)
Giles started his career in accountancy in 1983 with a North Yorkshire firm of accountants, initially in Ripon and then moving to Boroughbridge and finally Harrogate. During this time he progressed to a senior level with his own porfolio of clients.
He joined The Barker Partnership at the Thirsk office in 2015 primarily working on corporate clients and charities, as well as looking after his own small portfolio of clients.
As well as having years of general practice experience in a range of accountancy, taxation and VAT matters, Giles has a broad knowledge of a range of bookkeeping programs.
